The Metropolitan Dance Center opened in Stamford more than 10 years ago, and has established itself as the premier ballroom and latin dance studio. It is currently under the direction of Steven Dougherty, a well renowned professional in the ballroom dance industry.

 

Our excellent staff of certified instructors will make your dream of becoming a confident dancer a reality, whether socially or competitively.  While you are learning through our nationally certified, easy-to-learn system of teaching, you will also experience the benefits of fun and fitness that dancing offers. You will not only learn to dance, but burn some calories, give yourself a mild aerobic workout, and make a new circle of friends.

 

The teaching system used by The Metropolitan Dance Center’s certified instructors shows a logical progression of learning. Teaching charts map a student’s progress from the very first lesson to the most advanced level chosen by the student. The curriculum is offered in both private and group class instruction.
