Policies and Procedures

Metropolitan Dance Center is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students, staff, and guests.  We have established a few guidelines to ensure the health, safety and happiness of everyone.

  • Metropolitan Dance Center continues to follow the CDC and state of Connecticut guidelines regarding COVID procedures. We take everyone’s health and safety concerns very seriously and if at any time you may have a concern please be sure to advise a staff member or the director immediately.

  • We respect everyone’s right to privacy and therefore ask that before taking pictures or videoing in the studio that you clear it with management first.  As we sometimes may take pictures or video for our social media, please make us aware if you prefer not to participate in any such promotions.

  • All clientele and guests are asked to check in at reception upon arrival at the studio.

  • We provide lockers and a coat closet for the convenience of our clients and guests and ask that you do not leave belongings in the reception area or the ballroom so that we can provide a neat and clean space for everyone to enjoy.

  • Other than water, no beverages or food is permitted in the ballroom.

  • Metropolitan Dance Center will always strive to provide the highest quality instruction from our certified teaching staff.  Although we will guarantee quality of instruction we cannot always guarantee a particular instructor.

  • It is expected that all clients and guests conduct themselves in an appropriate manner.  As we will always treat everyone with the respect they deserve we ask the same in kind to our staff and other patrons of the studio. If anyone feels they are not being treated with respect or unfairly by an employee or other patron of the studio, it is encouraged to bring it to the attention of the director immediately.

  • Metropolitan Dance Center does not store any credit card information and treat all confidential information with the utmost of care. We will not share any personal contact information with any other person of the studio without the express consent of the client themselves.

  • Although we do not enforce any particular dress code for our clients we ask that you be dressed comfortably and keep in mind that some dance moves may require turns and spins and dress accordingly, avoiding perhaps any very short skirts that may flare up in the course of dancing without wearing the appropriate dance shorts. In addition, we suggest a dance shoe or a leather or synthetic sole shoe that is easy to glide on the floor with. Sneakers can get stuck on the floor which can lead to injury and we advise against them.  Flip flops or shoes that have no strap are also advised against.  Bare feet, socks or stockings are never permitted on the floor due to safety concerns. We do not allow any tap shoes on the ballroom floor.

  • If there are any questions or concerns that arise in the course of your time at Metropolitan Dance Center please feel free to contact any of our staff members or the director of the studio.  It is our goal to provide a comfortable, safe and pleasant experience
